Sample Content from this Document

1.Identify what has, usually does, or can interrupt your schedule. 2.Identify which of these interruptions you have had control over and which ones you haven’t. Examples: You do not have control over getting a flat tire on your way to work; however, you do have control over how much time you spend on social media. 3.Discuss how these interruptions have impacted your ability to accomplish tasks successfully. 4.Consider how you’ve adjusted your schedule to deal with these interruptions. It’s important to take a moment and think about what can interrupt or possibly interrupt us and come up with solutions on how to take control of them. As for me, and I’m sure some can relate, my children, noises, phone calls from family and friends, text messages, social media, and even randomly getting sleepy at times. Those are big distractions for me during my schedule. I can control most of these interruptions using time management when it comes to my children. For example, if they are in school, or if my toddler is napping, I take advantage of the time and log in to my schoolwork and try to get as much done as possible. I have set alarms for different tasks just to stay on track of my schoolwork and personal life. I learned to put my phone on do not disturb and get back to my family and friends when I can. I’m still working on when I get sleepy. It does throw me off when I wake up, I must find the time and energy to get back into my work again. Overall, I feel my interruptions can be easily managed.
