DMV 2025 California Written Test Flashcards Tips for choosing a lane1. Use the left lane to pass or turn left2. Use the right lane to enter or exit traffic or when you enter the road from a curb or shoulder Double solid yellow linesDo not pass over. Stay to the right of these lines unless you

are:1. In a high-occupacy vehicle carpool lane that has a

designated entrance on the left2. Instructed by construction or other signs3. Turning left across a single set of double yellow lines to enter or exit a driveway/private road/U-turn During a law enforcement stop:1. Turn on your right turn signal to acknowledge that you see the officer.2. Move completely onto the right shoulder, even if in the carpool/HOV lane. Stop in a well-lit area when possible.3. Turn off your radio.4. Remain inside your vehicle unless directed to get out by the officer.5. Roll down your window after stopping your vehicle and before the officer makes contact with you.6.
