specific laws in each state offer varying degrees of employee protection.

A union is an organization of workers formed to protect their interests and improve their compensation
and working conditions. This protection usually comes in the form of negotiations.

Labor strikes occur when there is no possibility of agreement. Majority vote is used within the union process to
determine leadership and demands. Arbitration is a process used by a third party in settling a dispute.
