Informative Speech Outline – Maintaining A Balance Between Life and Academics
General Purpose: To Inform
Specific Purpose: To inform the audience on tips to juggle both lifestyles in a healthy way
Central Idea: It is necessary to optimize a balance between school and life in order to lead a
successful role in both lifestyles. If one is too focused on their academics, then personal factors
like relationships, decline. A healthy balance between academics and life is crucial for one's wellbeing and overall performance.
Introduction:
I can remember when I had absolutely no energy coming back from work and still having school
related work unfinished. It drains you physically and mentally when there is no balance between
life in general and academic life. Today I will introduce a few changes to improve and maintain a
healthy balance to succeed in different roles in our lives like: planning your own schedule, learn
diff. ways to relieve stress, and setting achievable standards.
Body:
I. Manage your time, plan your own schedule
a. Make a weekly to-do list (big or small)
b. Helps in being productive and visualizing the day
c. Able to be organized
i. You see where your times goes
ii. More energy and motivation
