Some of the key responsibilities of an MOA include managing patient records, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, greeting patients, and handling billing and insurance claims 1 . In addition to these core duties, an MOA is also expected to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work well in a team environment 2 . They should be able to multitask and prioritize their workload effectively, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail 2 . An MOA should also be familiar with medical terminology and have a good understanding of medical procedures and protocols 1 . They should be able to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain patient privacy at all times 1 . Overall, an employer expects an MOA to be a reliable and trustworthy member of their team, who can provide excellent customer service to patients and help ensure the smooth running of the medical practice 2. Define patients’ health beliefs. How are health beliefs affect patients’ decisions? Health beliefs are the personal and subjective views that patients have about their own health and well-being. They include their perceptions of the causes, consequences, and treatments of their health conditions, as well as their expectations, preferences, and values. Health beliefs affect patients' decisions by influencing their attitudes, motivations, and behaviors regarding health care. For example, a patient who believes that their illness is caused by bad luck may be less likely to seek medical help or follow treatment recommendations than a patient who believes that their illness is caused by a modifiable risk factor. 3. Define wellness. List the 5 wellness dimensions and give an example of each dimension Wellness is the state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort. There are five dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual. Physical wellness involves taking care of one's body through exercise, nutrition, sleep and avoiding harmful substances. Emotional wellness involves managing one's feelings, coping with stress, expressing oneself and seeking support when needed. Social wellness involves building positive relationships with others, respecting diversity, communicating effectively and contributing to the community.
