During your studies, you learned about nursing’s image and how to be a professional. You are excited to portray this professionalism and make an impact on how the world views nurses and the nursing profession.
1.What actions can you take, from day one of your clinical experience, to portray a positive, professional image of nursing?
ANS:
Portraying a positive, professional image of nursing benefits every nurse, and the profession as a whole. You can achieve this by being on time for clinicals, making sure that you are well-groomed, and prepared for the day ahead. This can include setting an alarm, laying out your scrubs and other supplies that you might need (stethoscope, notes), and packing your lunch the night before. When you are in the clinical setting, speaking in a courteous manner, maintaining a positive attitude, and following through with patient requests, will help you stand out as a professional.Case Study 2 Anna is a nurse on a busy orthopedic floor.
