NURSING NCLEX Medications

1. Aripiprazole discmelt (Abilify):

Answer antipsychotic treat the symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolardisorder (manic depression).This is an orally disintegrating tablet and should not be swallowed whole.

2. Lispro insulin:

Answer a rapid-acting insulin that should only be taken with food or within15 minutes of a meal.

Answer Narcotics. Narcotics sedate and decrease therespiratory rate, which increases CO2 retention.Antiemetics. Some antiemetics are very sedating and will decrease the respiratoryrate while increasing CO2 retention.Hypnotics. Sleeping pills can cause sedation to the point of hypoventilation, whichleads to CO2 retention.

20. Propanolol & pregnancy/eclampsia:

Answer a beta blocker, is not given during pregnancy as it decreases HR and the amount of blood pumped by the heart. This cancause fetal bradycardia.

21. What Med taken with SSRI can be fatal?:

Answer St. John Wort

22. What is the med that is aka norepinephrine?:

Answer Levophed Aka adrenaline Think Levophed or leave them dead bc it is the last resort drug
