scriptie voorbeeld hbo-v mantelzorgers behoeften wensen herstelproces patienten hogeschool viaa Samenvatting Aanleiding: er is de laatste steeds meer aandacht in de media en vakliteratuur voor de inzetbaarheid van mantelzorg in het ziekenhuis, ook wordt er veel onderzoek naar gedaan. Familie en bekenden hebben een belangrijke rol in het welbevinden van de patiënt. Uit onderzoek is gebleken dat er zo vroeg mogelijk na een cerebrovasculair accident gestart moet worden met revalidatie (Vogels, et al., 2022). Vanuit deze inzichten vraagt de opdrachtgever zich af of mantelzorg ingezet kan worden op de afdeling SOORT Ziekten in Universitair Medisch Centrum PLAATS.Context en vraagstelling: in opdracht van de zorg coördinator op de afdeling SOORT Ziekten (X) in het Universitair Medisch Centrum PLAATS (X) wordt onderzoek gedaan naar de behoefte van mantelzorgers bij de participatie in het zorg- en revalidatie proces van de patiënt. De vraagstelling van dit onderzoek is: Is de mantelzorger bereid en op welke wijze heeft de mantelzorger hulp bij ondersteuning nodig van de verpleegkundige om hulp te bieden bij het zorg- en revalidatieproces van een patiënt op de afdeling X in het NAAM PLAATS?Methode: er zijn semigestructureerd interviews afgenomen onder familieleden van patiënten die tijdens het onderzoek aanwezig waren op de afdeling X. Er werd gebruik gemaakt van semigestructureerde interviews, met betrekking tot de volgende kenmerken: bereidheid behoefte, voorwaarden en belemmeringen bij de participatie van de mantelzorgers in het zorg- en revalidatie proces.Resultaten en conclusie: Alle, voor het onderzoek, geïnterviewde mantelzorgers waren bereid om te participeren bij het zorg- en revalidatie proces van hun familie lid. De persoonlijke motieven en de vorm van participatie verschillen per persoon. Mantelzorgers willen bij uiteenlopende werkzaamheden participeren. Zaken zoals toiletgang, helpen bij het wassen, aankleden en mondverzorging liggen gevoelig. Hierbij spelen onderwerpen als intimiteit en privacy een rol, dit is afhankelijk van de persoonlijke voorkeuren van familie. Dit is echter niet afhankelijk van de relatie tussen mantelzorger en patiënt. Uit de resultaten is gebleken dat mantelzorgers behoefte hebben aan goede instructies, de juiste benodigdheden en achtergrond informatie over de behandeling en het ziektebeeld om te participeren in het zorg- en revalidatieproces. Ten slotte verwachten mantelzorgers, goede begeleiding en goede communicatie tussen de verschillende disciplines.Aanbevelingen: op basis van de resultaten moet er gezorgd worden voor een informatie voorziening op maat voor de mantelzorger, alvorens deze start met participeren in het zorg- en revalidatieproces.Verder zal een pilot moeten plaatsvinden waarin mantelzorgers en alle disciplines die daarbij in aanmerking komen met elkaar samen gaan werken. Na afloop van deze pilot kan het proces van de participatie van de mantelzorger in het ziekenhuis geoptimaliseerd worden. Ten slotte verdient het de aanbeveling om vervolgonderzoek te doen naar de behoeften en voorwaarden van alle disciplines die te maken hebben met de mantelzorgparticipatie in het zorg- en revalidatieproces. Ook zou het interessant zijn om de behoeften en voorwaarden van mantelzorgers met een andere etniciteit te onderzoeken. 2 / 5

Moreover, a lot of research has been done and is being done about this topic. Family and acquaintances play an important role in the well-being of the patient.Research has shown that after a cerebrovascular accident the rehabilitation should start as soon as possible (Vogels, et al., 2022).From these insights, the client would like to know if care can be deployed at the department for cerebrovascular diseases (X) at the Academic Medical Centre PLAATS (X).

Context and problem definition: two 4

th year students of the study HBO-verpleegkunde at the University for Applied Sciences GH PLAATS have conducted a research, that has been commissioned by the care coordinator of the Xat X, about the needs for carers at the participation in the care and rehabilitation process of the patient. The problem definition in this case: is the carer willing to participate in the care and rehabilitation process of a patient, and in which way does the carer need assistance and support of the nurse in order to be able to provide assistance?Method: semi-structured interviews have been conducted, among families of patients whom were present at the Xdepartment during the research, regarding the following features: willingness, need, conditions, barriers and conditions for the participation of the carers at the care and rehabilitation process.Results and conclusion: all respondents of this research have shown willingness to participate in the care and rehabilitation process of a relative. The personal motives and the way of participation differ from person to person but respondents are willing to participate in various activities. However, activities such as toileting, the help with washing, dressing and oral care are seen as precarious.Topics such as intimacy and privacy play a huge role in here which depends on the personal preferences of the family, although this is not dependent of the relationship between the carer and the patient. The results show that carers have the need for good instructions, proper equipment and background information about the treatment and the clinical picture in order to participate in the care and rehabilitation process. At last, respondents expect a good accompaniment and communication between the several disciplines.Recommendations: based on the results it can be concluded that tailored information should be provided for the carers before the start of participation in the care and rehabilitation process.Moreover, a pilot will have to take place in which carers and all disciplines that should be considered are going to cooperate. After this pilot the process of participation of the carer in the hospital can be optimized. At last, it is recommended that further research will be done about the needs and conditions for all disciplines that are dealing with informal care participation in the care and rehabilitation process. Furthermore, it would be interesting to research the needs and conditions of carers with a different ethnicity. 3 / 5
