Book title and author The book title is 'Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone'. Sometimes it's also called 'Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone', but that does mean the same thing. It's written by J. K. Rowling (Joanne Rowling).
Orientation and expectation On the book cover you see the front of a fire-red train, called the Hogwarts express. There's standing a boy with messy black hair, glasses and a huge scar in shape of a lightening bolt on his forehead. The boy named Harry and the Hogwarts express are on platform 9 ¾. On the upside of the cover is written the title in the colours white and yellow. On the backside you see professor Dumbledore bein' sassy with his Put-Outer in his hand.
I think the book will be about a boy named Harry Potter, who is a wizard, and travels to a magic school with the fire-red train that's standing on the book cover. I think there'll be a dark wizard, who wants to kill Harry. There will also be a stone, the philosopher's stone. That stone is really important, but the dark lord wants it.
I choose the book because I'm a Potterhead (a huge Harry Potter fan who knows almost everything about the books and movies and who joins the fandom) and I've read the book many times in Dutch, so I know the translation. I wanted to read the book in English because it is originally written in English, and I think it is more beautiful in its original language.
